Goobered has a peanut origin; boogered has a nostril origin. ;<)

Hey look, goobered and boogered are like anagrams that mean the same thing. There must be a word for that. Buggered does too, but has U in it.

Please understand that I am not pointing fingers or placing blame. Considering that this is a used car and had multiple owners there is no way to know the details of its history.

I suspect that the original bolt got damaged and someone used a non-standard replacement, which is what most likely caused it to get boogered up.

Not a big deal, just a little frustrating when you roll under the car expecting to take 30 minutes and ending up taking longer.

What's important is that I was able to sort it out with minimal effort. Considering the amount of work I have done on the car since I got it this is the first and only time I have found something goobered up.

I had to remove the bracket with the mount, then use a socket, brass drift and BFH to drive the bolt out.
I guess every used car has its share of surprises, but I assumed your 140 wouldn't have surprises of the 'buggered by last fool who worked on it' nature.

Reminds me of my first Saab, a 99EMS that I bought from the original owner. 20,000 miles after I bought it, I checked the air filter (which had been replaced by an import specialist indy just before I bought the car) and found the bottom of the filter was seated off center and the car had been sucking about 1/3 to 1/2 unfiltered air for as long as that filter had been in the car. I took the filter in to the indy and showed them the mark from the part of the filter housing that was supposed to go INSIDE the filter, and the guy basically said "so, what?". That should have been my first indication that I should never let anybody else touch one of my cars.
