Not at DCA, but I've been on some of those kind of landings like Jon
describes. raining, crosswind to where the plane is crabbing at what
seems an impossible angle to land and stay on the runway. Those are
the times when the cabin cheers after landing. Or at least we used
to (pre TSA)
DCA is particularly enjoyable in that the approach is down the river
then a hard right turn just before landing. Then the pilot would
slam the plane down and stand on the brakes and hit the throttles
with the thrust reversers deployed, I always thought a landing would
be easier if the seats could be rotated 180deg so we were facing aft
when we landed. Throw in some stormy weather as Dieselhead
describes and it is muy fun.

Try flying some of those approaches to DCA or LGA with a 25 knot
crosswind in moderate turbulence, rain, 200' ceilings, 1 mi
visibility. We have no respect for those bitch about the landing.

Bus'up the equipment. "Its not mine" I don't have so much
respect for those guys.
I'm not complaining about those kind of conditions, In those
conditions, a carrier pilot is good.
As for those airports, Never been there, and hope I never have to go there.
