Transmission modulator? Have you tested the shutoff valve itself yet? When the one on my 240D was going I could put the mityvac on it and pull oil up. If I slurped a bunch of oil out of it it'd work good for another couple weeks. Does the car start hard? Is it possible you got the lines from the switch on backwards? Maybe one of the lines split when you were putting it back on, they tend to be quite dried out and hard after all these years. -Curt Date: Sun, 01 Jan 2006 13:59:15 -0600 From: Jason Greene <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [MBZ] vacume leak/no engine stop To: Mercedes Discussion List <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed
Ok, so we have figured out that the larger black line is (clean air supply for inside the cab)... what is the smaller line? Here is a better photo http://www.pictureblogger.com/Mercedes/dscn0982 As far as my engine cut-off lines.. ( the brown ones) they are also attached. Thoughts? It never did this All part of the same thing. With vacuum problems (leaks) the HVAC doesn't work right, the doors don't lock/unlock, the car won't shut off, and the tranny shifts hard. They're all vacuum-driven! You need to find whatever is disconnected, or more likely cracked in half, and fix it. -- Jim
