Don't know if it applies to cars, but my recollection is that some bikes were not up to the higher wattage bulbs due to the electrical system. If you acquire bigger wattage bulbs, you may wish to do a little checking to ensure that you do not end up in the dark suddenly with your wiring harness on fire.
