Or better alignment of the filament with the optics. I believe this is why Osram and Hella bulbs worked better in my 6x8 rectangular E-code lamps than JC Whitney bulbs from a plain white box marked "Taiwan". I did once get some bulbs from Whitney with the name "Candlepower" stamped on the plain white box, those were good, I think they may have been made in Germany.
