the sealed units lasted me 5 months/10,000 miles. They each died within 1 day
of the other.

I'm running Silver Stars on several of my cars. Very minor improvement
in illumination (I ran each car with one new Silver Star and one NEW
conventional light to compare). The slightly "whiter" color is an
improvement and they are marginally brighter, but not worth more than
double the price for the lamps. They've been in for several years now
but I hear they are short lived. I will NOT pay a premium again if they
don't last at least nearly as long as the conventional halogens.

Chris,

According to Nitske's book, 17,037 190E 2.3 16 Valves were built from =20=

1983-1988 in two forms, one for US and the other for Europe. It was =20
primarily produced w/a 5 speed, altho there are some automatics =20
around, but performance is greatly reduced.
They were only available in Smoke Silver/Black and Pearl Black/Black.

Primary difference - euro model had 185 hp (3.07 rear), US model had =20
167 hp (3.27 rear and detuned for emissions reduction). It has a =20
pneumatic self-leveling suspension (spheres in rear) that can get =20
dicey and expensive to fix. Engine also has some parts unique to the =20=

16V. In March 1989, about 500 "Evolution" models were built for =20
competition racing in Europe w/a short stroke engine that put out =20
some 300+ HP........

I've driven several and they are a kick, particularly on a track =20
where they really show off. I'm still looking for one, but have =20
narrowed my search to Smoke Silver only. Black/black in AZ - NOT!
