Actually, that was him trolling for (more) freebies.  They had given him some 
trousers as a gift, and he wanted more of them. He was pretty good at getting 
"gifts" from people and businesses.

Did you know that he graduated from a rural teacher's college and taught 
migrant workers kids when he got out of school?
