I found the right parts page:
http://www.mbpartsworld.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=1082553&ukey_make=1103&ukey_model=16073&modelYear=1982&ukey_category=24396&ukey_trimLevel=20574
The bolt in question is item #38. They only show one available seal ring (#41)
so I have to conclude that my old TD had some kind of special bolt or that the
old-style hollow bolt was replaced with a simpler design at some point.
