One thing - have you tested this theory? I mean has it been running badly
and you burped it and then it started running good again?

No, though I know that it _can_ happen. _I_ noticed that the fuel
reserve light came on early. That seems to be what happens when
the 115 tank starts getting sucked flat. The fuel draw system
in the 115 seems to be pretty robust. When I opened the cap
to fill it up there was a tremendous insucking of air, and I
could hear the tank pop back into shape. I suppose if I'd left
it long enough it could have had problems running, though it
might have done permanent tank damage at that point.

Today I dug the mud and bugs out of the vent fitting (behind
the bumper in a 115) and its associated tubing, and that seems
to have opened it up. It was blocked when I started, and no
can be blown through. We'll see. The system has a pressure
and vacuum valve in it, you can feel it operating when you
suck and blow on the vent line.
