I was bored this afternoon after spending the morning doing laundry and addressing a large pile of papers I needed to file. So I went out into the garage about 4:00 and put a new fuel filter on the W210 wagon.
I dug through the VMI on the car while I was filing and couldn’t find any indication of when the filter might have last been replaced, unless it was done during “B” service at around 134k. So I figured it was about time. From jacking up the side of the car to putting everything away it took me under 20 minutes. Only negative was that some dealer dummy put screw clamps on the lines instead of using the nice clippy clamps that are supposed to be there. How did I know this? The other ends of the lines had the clippy clamps. It did have an OE (Knecht) filter on it, tristar and MB part number all over it. Interesting that it had the Knecht logo on it, too. I might get a handful of the clippy clamps and replace the screw clamps with the correct ones if I really get bored. Cranked about four times and it fired up and ran. Done. -D _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
