Angie called me from the side of the road, flat tire on the Dodge. In
retrospect I'm surprised the TPMS wasn't shrieking at her, it did at me later
on.Anyway.I told her to call AAA but she didn't want to wait so I drove out,
fortunately I had some tools in the car for working on the groomer.
Problem: No Dodge tools, ie: no thing to let the spare tire down. Now she calls
AAA, its going to be an hour to an hour and a half. Theres an Autozone in sight
so I went and bought an 18" long 3/8" socket extension. That, inserterted
backwards plus a 3/8" wrench got the tire down.
Next Problem: Well the same problem really, I don't have the tool to work the
jack, fortunately a 24mm socket will kinda fit and do the job.
Next Problem: The jack isn't tall enough to get the spare on. The little jack
from my Jetta was just enough to lift the control arm to get the tire on.
Next Problem: You might have seen this coming, the spare only has 15psi. I
slowly drove to a tire place which was fortunately only a mile away with the
TPMS shrieking to get more air. TPMS still isn't happy, I think the spare isn't
the same diameter as the rest of the tires but we got home okay.
This is the only vehicle that doesn't have cheap Chinese tires, its got General
Grabber AT2s. Must have a nail or something. Fortunately its got lots of
warranty left...
