I see badges on Caddies sometimes, but never up close...what are they? High
mileage badges? 50,000 miles, 100,000 miles and 150,000 miles HAHAHHA

Volvo also offers 'em. I had a 150,000 mile badge on my Volvo 240. (It
actually had closer to 200,000, I think; the classic VDO odometer problem.)

Well, in the fall of 2005, I took the plunge and had a complete re-paint,
including a new windshield, lots of new moldings, a fender or 2 and a
tremendous amount of disassembly/reassembly afterwards, etc, etc, on my
1990 350SDL Car looks fantastic, but when the shop was re-installing the
sunroof, he could not get it not to bind or scratch the paint when
retracted. Frustrated, he said: "Take it down to Mercedes, have them fix
it and put it on my tab". Well, I finally brought the car there 2 weeks
ago and they "tried" to realign the sunroof. Picked it up last week, and
it was still binding and scratching the paint., said it was the best they
could adjust it. They said it needed slide angles, a sliding bridge and a
few other parts, stating worn parts as the reason it was binding (and
scratching). Tried to get the paint shop to cover labor if I bought the
parts.....since they were paying the labor for the adjustment the roof
anyway, but no good. (Oh well, I tried). Checked out the car on Saturday
and I don't ever think I've seen the sunroof operate so smoothly or
quietly! This morning, it's back to the paint shop to get the roof panel
either buffed out or re-painted. Don't know which one yet. Also to fix
a few things I'm not 100% happy with. In general, even though he's been
paid 4-5 months ago, he's still willing to follow through to see that I'm
satisfied with his work..... BTW, the S/R was screwing up the paint prior
to the repaint, so I don't think it's unreasonable that he did not want to
pay.......

My question: would badly worn slide angles, slide bridge and sliding
jaw(s) and poorly aligned sliding panel cause the back edge of the sliding
panel to scrape when it is retracted, or could there be some obstruction in
the roof causing the scraping? (Requiring removal of the headliner to
access? Gosh, I hope not.......)

Oh, and as an aside, the dealer ding'ed the side of the car while in their
custody; They're fixing that too.
