I would guess the validation requirement was dropped and the form was
not changed. No dealer validation is now needed. I got my 500,000
km badge for the SD w/o it.
IMHO, most dealerships are not even aware of the mileage badge
program. I believe the emphasis of MB dealer owners and sales forces
is now focused on SELL, SELL, SELL without recognizing and
emphasizing the durability of pre-90's Benzes. Also, the knowledge
base of service departments for those pre-90's cars has largely
disappeared. It's now "replace the component that the computer tells
you to replace" and show the customer to checkout..
An analogy ... My DIL is an ER nurse and her motto is "Treat 'em and
Street 'em".
