Simple check for head gasket leak. Remove radiator cap, start engine, run it at fast idle till it warms up, if it takes that long. If you have a head gasket leak, you will get bubbles and surging of coolant out of the fill neck.... as you advance throttle, the surges of coolant will increase in volume. At low idle, coolant will bubble and gurgle over the fill neck... If it doesn't, likely head gaskets are good.. maybe.
What happened with engine temps when you drove it? Typically, combustion gas in coolant will cause high engine coolant temp also.. another indicator.
