When you are "done" go through and check every clearance again.  If you find one "out," repeat as necessary until all are good.   Not hard.  You just need one thin 14mm open end and one standard open end.   While the special tools may be nice, they are 100% unnecessary.

I have done one valve adjustment sequence before on a 1981 300CD back in 2006. 
Before I adjusted them, they were so far out of adjustment that the car 
wouldn’t even start! Afterward, I was able to get it started. I know that this
