That is a very good point and I do want to stick with 123 or older -- but I will say to most people the 124 probably would be considered a classic. It was certainly one of the very best cars that made such a great name for Mercedes in the USA. Yes, I know, the 123 really paved for the way for that. But, the 124 really represented the car that one the first Mercedes for a lot of people. It was no longer the car for a the pipe-smoking liberal college professors and the 126 (especially the 560) was more the Surgeons and Senior Partners at law firms. But, the 124 was the car built to appeal to more people here than ever before. Randy wrote: "Yeah! Dump that 123 for a quick profit and get Dan and Jaime to find you a finny or a ponton! Or go for broke and get something bigger. I think I recall that you are a big man. You need a BIG Mercedes. I was going to say a BLACK Mercedes, but maybe in Memphis, it would be better if it was a WHITE Mercedes just because of the heat." I am big -- although not as big as I used to be. Still 6'3" but about 50 lbs lighter than my max. The 126 definitely fits me better. In fact the 124 diesel that was mine then went to OK Don, then Kaleb, then Craig was a fantastic car, but it always seemed a little small to me which was why I sold it and got a 126.
