> Will look into 555. Simplest answer. The 555 can drive about 200mA by itself. If your compressor needs more than that (likely), you'll have to add a driver circuit afterwards. (This would be true of anything you might use, the 555 is a powerhouse compared to any of the microcontrollers.)
