My avionics guy refuses to use crimp only. His argument is, a crimp
connection is only a friction connection, thus subject to failure. He does
both crimp then solder, then shrink tube to seal the connection joint.
He isn't cheap, but since I started using him, electrical related issues
have gone away.
His work is extremely tidy also.
