So your vote is to put in inside the door on the left side, rather than angling it on the right side of the shop to the left of the other lift?  I am thinking this would give me more room to work if needed.

The other suggestion I would make is to place the lift in line with the
garage door so it's easy to get a car in the shop and on the lift, THEN...
bolt an attachment point to the floor to mount a winch, and at the other
end of the lift area, a second bolt attachment point to attach a winch
pulley, so you can pull a dead car in by yourself, or by using the pulley
on the other end, pull the dead car back out, by yourself.
[drill the concrete and use a thread insert for an anchor bolt. that leaves
a smooth floor, and you can bolt the pulley clevis in when you need it..
take it out when you don't.

The best investment I've made is to buy a good size load of industrial
grade used pallet rack, with cross beams and floor panels. Then, buy a fork
lift that works to lift heavy stuff up on the shelves.
The pallet rack I have is 12 ft tall, the fork lift I have will lift 12
ft. Bolt the pallet rack to the floor, and the building walls, so it is
"tip resistant" [unless you do something really stupid].
THEN, organize all the "stuff" that is taking up floor space on the racks
where you can get to it. Suddenly, you can find stuff for each project car
because you allocated rack space to THAT project.
Suddenly, you have work space for each car instead of clutter..
Go vertical young man.. !! You will be glad you did.

If I wanted to get really fancy, I could probably build a second level on
one side, cars park under and a storage loft above.

I think putting it straight in the door would be easier to get a non
opp
car on it and would probably net more room to work around it, but I
want to
also maximize area to store cars indoors. When I say store cars I
mean
running cars that I can easily pull in and out when I need the space
for
work.
