Yea, I took the title etc down.  I think they were just looking in the EPC and the part numbers showing there for 116, at least the epc I have, shows NLA.  You would think their EPC would show the key was superseded to this but perhaps not

The Classic Center Parts system (Germany) shows them to be available, which
means they’re available from any dealer in the U.S. as well. They should be
able to order one for you with proof of ownership and have it cut to match the
VIN. That’s typically done at the parts depot in Texas, at least all of the
keys I’ve had made from them in the last 20 year were.

Unless they JUST discontinued them, I ordered sidewinder keys for

I stopped by the local MB dealer to attempt to order a key for
        this 79
450SEL that I lost the key to.? This is the later small square
        side cut
key like used on the 201 etc.? Kid at the counter was very
        confused, not
sure what key it was etc.? He said he needed to get the old
        timer to
come up there.? Old timer shows up and immediately says "Hi
        Kaleb".?
This is the dude I started buying parts from when I was 16
        years old,
still there.? Last time i was in there was probably 5-10 years
        ago.?
Anyway, he told the kid which key it is, they are in stock.?
        He starts
ordering it. The old timer comes back and says he just
        realized it was a
116 and not a 126.? And nope, those keys are NLA.? I assume
        this is the
same key the 201 and and the later 107 uses so I assume those
        are NLA
        also?? WTF?

Anyway, does anyone think if this shows NLA at the dealer it
        could be
obtained from the classic center?? What about pulling one of
        the door
handles and sending it somewhere to get a key cut?? The dealer
        gave me a
couple of local places that can supposedly do this but not
sure if they really can or not.
