It's so nowhere that it's almost somewhere again. 
Still has 10x the population of Stockholm, ME where my cousin owns the store. 
When I say the store I mean it's the only store in town.

“remote”, much like the better part of Maine.

The wife told us that after the first snow there was no more driving a 
car/truck into town, it was snow machine until the spring thaw. You 
wanted/needed something, it was a multi-hour trip on a snowmobile, so you 
better want/need it bad. This predated cell phones, too, not that I expect 
there would be any service out there anyway.
