At last international count there are zero 727's in fleet service hauling passengers. The remaining few in use are shown as cargo, or "special use" [whatever that may be]. So, the market for 727 qualified maintenance techs is pretty dry. I have an aviation friend that built a large new hanger-dominium when he retired and he mounted the front section of a DC6 [everything forward of the wing main spar] sticking out the front of his "aviation palace" that he uses as a bar, so you can sit in the captain's seat and fly no matter how drunk you get, since it is about 25 ft in the air. [It's his nickel, he can spend it any way he wants to.. ;)) ]
