Peter, are you referring to 2500 feet per minute? I think I may have exceeded that one time in my 240D. I am curious, though, what you are referring to by 2500ft/min.

Only if you routinely exceed 2500 ft/min or so on the cylinder walls -- that's the point at which no oil can prevent rapid wear, not matter what you use. Otherwise, pretty much the higher the load, the more rapid the wear.
