My cousin has a set he made out of 2x8 or stock, about 16" wide, 4' long.
Very solid. Take a 6' long 2x8, slice it at an angle to make two ramp shaped
boards, full width for a foot or so, then tapering to a point. Take a 2x12
(or a pair of 2x6's) that's as long as you want your ramp to be wide, nail
the two tapered boards to it so it becomes the back wall of the ramp and
serves as a stop at the top.
Now nail 2x8s across the top of the ramp to serve as decking.
Unlike many commercially produced ramps, the slope is gentle enough to
drive a 2.3-16v onto without hitting the front spoiler.
Mitch.
