The 604 is one of the least attractive, most pedestrian Pugs ever produced. It
has the added distinction of being part of the reason for Citroen's departure
from our shores: apparently Peugeot (which bought Citroen in 1975) felt that
the stunning new Citroen CX would threaten the pending 604's success in North
America. The 604 does not have the durability of the 504, nor the timeless
lines of the 505. It's just a big ugly (usually rusty) box, IMHO.

The big thing with those diesels (which CAN go forever if properly cared-for)
is to watch for head gasket problems, especially on the turbos in the 505s.
There's also a tendency for oil leaks from the injection pump, depending on
which pump it has.

Pug parts aren't very hard to get. Visit http://www.peugeotholm.com/ for more
info.
