We've got our fuel useage down pretty accurately. The manual says the light comes on when ~2.5 gal remain. My tank (91 300D 2,5t) holds a total of 18g. Our MPGs is between 28 & 32 so 2.5g means we go between ~70 & 80 mi before we run completely out of fuel - which thankfully hasn't happened ---.
