Hey Zach,

You are so right. The tube accepts a rectangular bracket, and it
appears that the break is in the bracket.

Brazing doesn't sound very strong. So I guess it broke before and
someone brazed it. I did put in maybe a year or so of hard use on the
bike and it held. I have been learning that the point of breakage is
one of the highest stressed areas of the frame. Amazing that it held.

Seems like a poor design in the first place.
