How is a topsider more messy than oil all over your hand as you pull the plug? Even when I let the plug fall in the pan I still get a dose of it. The worst mess from the topsider is when you pull the tube back out but remember on an MB you DON'T use the tube that goes all the way down, you just use the larger tube to go a bit into the dipstick tube. Run a papertowel over it as you pull it out, very little mess. I also stuff a little piece of papertowel into the tube before I put the topsider away to keep from having a little pool in the box. Yeah I spent the money for an actual "Topsider" at the time I was living in an apartment and didn't have anywhere to plug in a vac. Now I run my shopvac to the topsider rather than pumping a million times...

I know that M/B would rather that we suck it out. You can't do it that way very effectively in most other cars. BTW, I never had luck with a TopSider, I found it messy and counterproductive. YMMV and I'm happy for you. Pete --------------------------------- Be a better sports nut! Let your teams follow you with Yahoo Mobile.
