Unfortunately, on more extensive testing I hit a pretty bad regression
of radeon-rewrite compared to master: if the X server uses the
radeon-rewrite driver for AIGLX (compiz on DRI1), starting gliv or xmoto
locks up the RV350 in my PowerBook. If the X server uses the master
driver, both apps work fine even if they use the radeon-rewrite driver
for direct rendering.

Has anyone else seen this?

It's the same problem with radeon-rewrite before your last set of
patches, so it may be a longstanding regression, though I haven't tested
further back.

Yes, AFAIR radeon-rewrite seemed to perform worse than master whenever I
tried it. However, right now it doesn't seem as bad as before I wrote
the above, so this may not be a blocker for the merge.
