Hi Bryn, After looking more carefully at the METRo code source, it seems that everything for the sand layer is already in the physical model. I tried to add a sand layer in the configuration file and I adjusted the code not to have an error message and... it worked! I will update the documentation and, starting from METRo 3.2.2, you will be able to use a "sand" layer.
