All,
Yesterday, my cell phone died {RIP}.
As I've been toying with the idea of writing Android Apps, I am considering
getting a new Android phone from Verizon (my cell provider). Unfortunately,
to use an Android phone with Verizon (who I am locked into) will raise my
monthly bill by nearly 50% (assuming they don't force me to change my wife's
line to a data plan as well, which would nearly double my bill!).
As my current job may not last more than another week, I don't want to spend
a lot of money on an Android phone (even more expense over the monthly bill
increase I will be seeing) and based on a friend's phone experience I'm
rather gun shy on taking this step out of the 20th century. My friend has
an Android cell phone that refuses to give him more than about 4 hours of
use even though he purchased a "high capacity" battery.
What I wanted was suggestions and experiences with various Android cell
phones that I might get through Verizon. Stories of bad batteries, flakey
performance and other warnings, as well as "Gee, I LOVE my XXX Android" are
all greatly appreciated. I really need specific Makes and Models to help me
avoid a costly mistake!
I plan to be at the August 3rd meeting, though last month, even leaving work
at 3:30, I wound up getting there after the movie had been shown (commuting
to NYC takes time!). See you all then.
Thanks,
Wes
