It all depends on what kind of hardware you have and what services your
ISP is willing to extend to you.
Possibly the simplest is to ask your ISP if they can assign you a range of
IP addresses for your computers at home. This way, the ADSL hardware has
an IP address, and so do your two computers. This doesn't require any
additional hardware or software but it usually means paying your ISP more
for the privilege of having permanent IP addresses.
If your ISP can't or won't give out additional IP addresses or charges too
much for them, then see if your hardware can do NAT or PAT (so called
Internet Line Sharing in Windows 98 and higher). For example, my Cisco
675 (an ADSL modem/router) comes with built in NAT and even a rudementary
firewall. There are several advantages to this. First, there is no
additional hardware or software to buy. Second, since NAT is being
handled by the ADSL device, it won't be affected by computer crashes
etc... The main disadvantage is that usually NAT or PAT in one of these
devices are not quite as advanced as what you can get with software NAT.
In both of the above cases, you will need to purchase a hub to share the
connection.
If your hardware can't do NAT then you need to look into software
solutions. This will mean MiamiDX for the Amiga and possibly another
Ethernet card or Wingate, Winroute or another Windows solution and an
additional Ethernet card.
