Oh yes, not to mention pissing off admins all over the place and losing
your internet connection. That's what happened to me when I accidentally
left ping -f running for something like 40 minutes. I've heard of people
even getting kicked out of the university for things like that.
Appearantly my attack caused some massive DoS problems along its
path (from LUNET to SUNET and on to somewhere in Russia), and it
did probably not occupy more than a few Mbits per second. Imagine the
damage you can do if you're doing it on a gigabit connection. :-P
