What you experienced is a common problem on your ISP's side,
not on Miami's side. Remember, we have to work with various
vagaries: our local telephone company for dialup service, with
whom we can never trust that we will get or keep a connection,
let alone a clean connection (bless their greedy little hearts);
the servers our ISP uses (They use many, not just their own.)
and the servers with which our ISP servers must connect to reach
a URL. Now, presuming that your local phone company is not
messing things up for you, there are always the computers used
as servers which (especially if they are MS Windows NT) can
easily foul up. And, of course, since each server must be able
to contact other servers (computers), they depend on telephone
lines also, and computers.
All you can do when you see that error message is to hang up
and dial again. Been there, done that.
BTW, I am glad that Miami 3.2b is as complete as it is that
it can properly detect such problems.
Hope this helps.
Julian.
