Schools are NOT under funded. Schools, just like the federal and state
govt waste so much money. I was once engaged to a teacher. Teachers
don't get the money, the
Money is wasted on "staff", new books (when the are only a couple
years old), new programs, etc. Some districts public school kids have
more money "spent" on them, then it cost to go to a private school.
I agree that technology is making the choice to go outside or play
video games more difficult, but it is not anyones role besides the
parents to teach their children to make better choices.
Moreover, it doesn't cost more to be healthy. I have put myself on
what I call the "budget diet" and have not only saved over 100 dollars
a month in groceries but eat so much better. Fresh veggies and a
protein. It's very simple. Furthermore, it is absolutly free to walk
down the street. You don't need special shoes or clothes. Just walk.
Situps during commercials, sugar free pudding instead of ocecre
sandwiches... Simple thing to do, and cheap.

True, but look how things have changed. Schools are underfunded so
physical fitness (PhysEd) is seldom in the curriculum. A sad part
of higher technoloafy are the video and computer games that hold
people in their seats for hours. People are WATCHING sports on big
screen TVs instead of participating in sports. Everyone drives
everywhere, even down the street to an event or location easily
within walking distance.
The media presents happy people getting stoned or drunk in movies
and on TV...
Personally, I've been taking vitamins, protein shakes, pumping Iron
for several decades; don't drink alcohol (bad for the body - much
worse than many believe), don't use tobacco, don't do things known
to lead to disease... I'd rather spend my money to staying well,
too! It certainly beats becoming sick and having to deal with
health care as a response to infirmary. BUT... prevention cost
money, as well, and many people who are NOT ignorant of prevention,
haven't the money to pay for it.
