yeah - ditto on asking people to check in on you. My neighbor was
trapped under his truck for probably 5 hours until his wife checked on
him. He was gone long before that.

All that mentioned and the buddy system. Don't get in a dangerous
situation alone. At least ask a neighbor to check on you if you are
alone.
Call a buddy and say "If I don't call you back in 30 minutes then come
check on me." Something like that.
