NMC That's good to hear, although LG has perhaps the most complaints of any maker in ConsumerAffairs.com's Complaint list. Another oddity is that Bosch is right behind LG in complaints, with Samsung close behind. I don't know how many manufacturing plants each maker has, but one might guess that some factories do better assembly work than others. The engineering complaints are about equal, although Bosch seems to have more than others. LG, Bosch, and Samsung lead in Poorest response to consumer complaints and poorest warranty service. I imagine that many of the numbers are directly related to the amount of sales that the maker has - More sales, so more complaints. A good buddy of mine is in appliance repair - he said that he never gets calls on the LG Tromm series of cloths washers/dryers. We had a Maytag front loader before the LG and it was JUNK. Within 6 years it was "done". Terrible design and we were actually happy when it wore out so we didn't have to deal with it anymore. If you go to ConsumerAffairs.com and search on any brand washer, you'll be confronted with so many horror stories that you may NEVER feel confident about spending cash on a new machine. There are nearly as many horror stories about warranty and service repairs, as well. Therefore, I'd like to know if there is anything really positive to be said by consumers about modern clothes washing machines in regard to durability and / or the manufacturer's acceptance of responsibility to the consumers.
