Earl,
I have used Visio Technical since v5 before it was MS. I currently use
Visio 2003 Professional every day for technical drawings into which I
place (sometimes multiple) images, MS Office files, OpenOffice.org
documents and AutoCAD drawings from various vendors and architects with
few problems (as a caveat I do use AutoCAD to massage some of the DWGs I
receive before I place them into Visio). I also occasionally use it for
publication layout as well but mostly because I am familiar with it.
I think the Technical version became the Professional version with 2003
but not sure.

Hope this helps you, Floyd
