Gayl, Mifos does not mark savings accounts that are mandatory as Active in Bad Standing if the client does not make any deposits. Savings generally only have the following statuses (this is off my memory, so may not be 100%)
* Pre-Approved * Active * Inactive * On Hold * Closed * Canceled Mandatory and Voluntary savings products should appear in the CSE. It is strange if those are not showing up for the clients. Maybe there is something wrong with the setup? r On 7/29/10 23:11, "Gayl Kennedy" <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, hope someone can advise on this as I am confused how it works in mifos. > In the user guide it states: > A voluntary deposit means that the client(s) or group(s) assigned this > product are not obliged to save; a > mandatory product means that savings deposits must be made as defined > in the product > > It also states: > A voluntary deposit means that the client(s) or group(s) assigned this > product are not obliged to save; a > mandatory product means that savings deposits must be made as defined > in the product > > however I have active mandatory accounts and they are not flagged as > being in bad standing due to lack of required deposits > I also set the max withdrawal to 0 to stop withdrawals until the loan > has been repaid but the system allowed me to make withdrawals without > even asking if I was sure! > > I would have thought mandatory savings (and column for voluntary > savings) would be included in the bulk collection sheet but I don't > see them there. > > how do other MFIs handle mandatory and voluntary savings? > thanks -- Ryan Whitney Mifos Technical Program Manager [email protected] Mifos - Technology that Empowers Microfinance (www.mifos.org) Our mission is to enable the poor, especially the poorest, to create a world without poverty. <http://grameenfoundation.org/take-action/ingenuity-fund-challenge/> P please consider the environment before printing this e-mail. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Palm PDK Hot Apps Program offers developers who use the Plug-In Development Kit to bring their C/C++ apps to Palm for a share of $1 Million in cash or HP Products.
