You can only specify the interface on a point-to-point circuit. And then, only if you don't specify the IP address of the gateway. Interface routing does not work on an ethernet circuit.
Whatever he did got it working. I'll let you know as soon as i find out. He did mention that he thought it might be a potential bug in 3.10
