That's great news. FWIW, I'd recently run

for /r mingw-w64 %f in (*.exe) do strip -s %f

and saw that the on-disk size of mingw-w32-1.0-bin_i686-mingw_20110427.zip 
(win7 32-bit) shrunk from ~682MB to ~263MB.
