I truly don't know which is worse: Developers pretending to be sysadmins or sysadmins (if you can call them that) being lazy. I bet that a lot of the good old fashioned admins got replaced by a new "devop" who can deploy everything really fast cutting every corner possible. And people still want it to be ported to OpenBSD.
