I have a basic sine-wave that I'm using. 44.1 / 48 / 96K all sound ok most of the time, but there is a definite artifact when switching direction or changing speed very rapidly -- ie, what people do when they are actively scratching. I've reached the end of what I'm capable of doing myself. This hack has consumed my life a little too much in the past couple days, so I'm putting it on a shelf and calling it quits. It does sound way better than the original scaler, I think, but someone else is going to need to take a look at it to figure out why it's popping when it does.
