Before I do anything, here is the lsmod|grep i2c:
i2c_ec                 14017  1 sbs
i2c_algo_bit           16329  0
i2c_viapro             18393  0
i2c_core               32833  3 i2c_ec,i2c_algo_bit,i2c_viapro

Now I'll try the modprobes above and report back....
