Dan,
The first thing you may want to do is check the terminals of the battery,
clean them with electrical contact cleaner and a wire brush.  Then be sure
to use a dab of Di-Electric grease on the contacts.

If the those wires are coroded and brittle you may want to replace the wires
with some heavy gauge wire, just to eliminate all probability of bad
grounds.

If that still doesn't solve the problem then you may want to change the
ignition switch.
