If you rock the car with it in gear you can see the engine move. Letting out
the clutch with the hood up, you can also see the engine move.
It is something you can do. The hardest part is usually lining up the bolt
holes on the bracket and the starter motor.
The mounts are not cheap.

Hey all,

91 Jetta GLI

Mechanic says I have a bad front engine mount?  How best to know?

Is this something to tackle in the home garage?  What is the precedure?

Do most people just replace with stock?  Or something aftermarket?  I will
likely only be replacing the front.
