I have a similar situation.....only, mine is about the size of a silver
dollar. No rust on it yes as it just happened today. Someone shot my
car and I have a bullet hole in it now. The bullet went through he
molding and front fender and must be ledged in there somewhere.

It hit the molding on the front fender between the wheel and the door.
It's the small molding about 3" wide. The one right next to the GLI
emblem on the driver side front door molding.

What would make someone do that??

Subject: [a2-16v-list] Rust spot - can it be sealed to prevent
spreading?

ive got a small patch of rust on the back end of my car from what i
would
assume to be an old impact from a shopping cart or something.
its been there for years, but the moisture year after year is finally
just
beginning to eat into the metal. So far, the rust is just on that spot.
It
hasnt started eating under the paint yet. I know what SHOULD be done to
fix
it (i.e. grind it out and repaint the body panel. But i was wondering if
any
of you knew any ways or any products that i could use to seal the rust
spot
so that it doesnt continue any farther than it has. I have thought about
carefully putting hot wax into the spot in order to waterpoof it. Any
other
ideas? The rust is only about the size of a nickel and in a concealed
spot,
so i dont really want to have a body shop charge me $$$$ to get it
redone.

any help would be great.
-Thanks.
