Porsche 944 Turbo and VW 16Vs together in the same conversation. That last happened in the October 2003 Issue of European Car. There were three beautifully restored normally aspirated 16Vs featured. But those cars were overshadowed by the next article which featured three Kokeln modified 944 Turbos used at the track. The mildest of them pushing 350+ hp while the meanest was a fully race prepared four banger with 500+ Hp. It hung in with the big turbo 911s except on the longest straights.

It's built like a tank for the track, everything has its own cooler, right down to the rear diff. Makes 320hp with a boost controller, chip and 3" exhaust. More than enough to run away from 333hp E46 M3's, esp up here at altitude! --- Anthony Pelletier <[email protected]> wrote: > Mmm, That 944 turbo S sounds sweet. > > I almost bought a 944 turbo the day I bought my 16v, > but decided I should look at the 16v first, because > I > can only imagine the money pit you can turn a > porsche > into given the money I've sunk into vw's. > > > > --- DocWyte <[email protected]> wrote: > > > I'm still here too, but I haven't owned a 16v in a > > few > > years.
