Yes Gentoo is a very interesting distro. It has been on my agenda to try out since secondary school but I never really got down to it (not to mention that the task of installing it was quite a bit above me back then). Perhaps I'll dedicate a partition to it this summer.
I am new here (these are my first few posts) so I can't really comment on what the mailing list is usually like, but I can only hope that things at least this active. Perhaps we can even let some enthusiasm spew out into the real world. What are your meetings normally like?
