Who said they would have to?

That's stupid. We've had a long discussion about the name, and
now you want to stick it into what according to consensus is a
bad namespace? Keeping backwards compatibility is a stupid reason
for not fixing a mistake and an even worse reason for introducing
new mistakes.

If Syntax::Highlight::Perl does move to the
Text::SyntaxHighlight:: namespace (which is not likely because
there's not really any enforcing instance for quality - much less
naming - issues on CPAN), there's *of course* going to be a
Syntax::Highlight::Perl stub module that loads and redirects to
Text::SyntaxHighlight::*.

This argument strikes me as more than moot.
